Elody S. Libe (b. 1988, Toulouse, France) is a French visual and media artist based in Canada. Her interdisciplinary practice investigates the invisible structures through which media, emerging technologies, and human relationships shape perception, memory, identity, and collective experience. Working across installation, photography, performance, drawing, artist books, and interactive media, she creates works that challenge conventional modes of perception and invite new ways of experiencing the world.
She studied visual communication in Toulouse before earning a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and a Master's degree in Plastic Arts with a specialization in Real-Time Art (A-RT) from the École Supérieure d'Art d'Aix-en-Provence, France. Drawing from philosophy, sociology, and media studies, her research explores the subtle mechanisms through which presence, absence, and meaning are constructed and perceived.
Libe has exhibited internationally in France, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Korea, Germany, and Canada. Her exhibitions and residencies include the co-creation of AVÉ FANTI! at FRAC Provence–Alpes–Côte d'Azur (2018), the presentation of SUR TERRE at the KCAW Festival in London (2020), supported by an Arts Council England grant, and a residency at the School of Visual Arts in New York, where her work was exhibited at Tiger Strikes Asteroid and the Aerogramme Center for Arts and Culture (2021). Her work has also been presented at the CICA Museum in South Korea (2022) and Galerie Donner Wieblitz in Munich, Germany (2023).
Her recent work extends this investigation by examining the growing influence of artificial intelligence, digital infrastructures, and contemporary media on perception and lived experience. Through increasingly immersive and relational works, she explores how technological systems redefine intimacy, memory, collective behavior, and our understanding of reality, while questioning the invisible forces that shape everyday life.
Libe's work is represented by ADAGP (Société des Auteurs dans les Arts Graphiques et Plastiques, Paris). She is also a member of the Regroupement des artistes en arts visuels du Québec (RAAV ) and the Regroupement des arts interdisciplinaires du Québec (RAIQ). She lives and works in Canada. Earlier works and academic publications were presented under the name Elody Sanchis.
